Proven Technology

The technology in the Steed Single Cab is proven and reliable. Employing a 2l turbo Diesel engine (pumping out 110Kw of power and 310 Nm of torque) and a 6-speed manual transmission, the Steed Single Cab inherits the Great Wall reputation for reliability and ease of repair. The 4x4 transfer case is a Borg Warner Torque on Demand unit, recognised for its durability, reliability and ease of use.

As with the Steed Dual Cab, the single cab uses a tough ladder frame chassis and has a one-tonne payload*.  Just load it up and get the job done. With a combination of double wishbone front suspension and leaf springs in the rear, the Steed Single Cab delivers a comfortable ride and solid load carrying ability.

The Steed Single Cab tows up to 1700kg braked and 750kg unbraked.


*Payload is defined as the Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) minus the Kerb Mass. Payload is the maximum combined weight of occupants, cargo, added structures and tow ball down weight (when towing). GVM must not be exceeded.

The Great Wall Steed Single Cab is also available in a rugged Wellside edition with factory fitted sides and folding tailgate.




Interior features

The Steed Single Cab has all the basics in place – diesel, air-con, leather steering wheel, electric windows, central locking, Bosch ABS / ESP, and tyre pressure monitoring. It even has Hill Hold Control that stops the ute rolling back on hills and a self-dimming rear view mirror to reduce night time glare.



Bosch Electronic Stability Program comes standard on all dual cab utilities, integrating anti-lock braking, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, Traction Control System and Hill Hold Control system. ESP is designed to detect and analyse the vehicle’s condition in real time, helping to actively avoid accidents before they occur.


4x4 Option

The Steed Single Cab is designed to handle the toughest conditions, with its strong construction and ladder frame chassis.

It’s also a proven performer off road, where its capable diesel engine, six-speed transmission, low range 4x4 gearing, 171 mm ground clearance, generous approach and departure angles and BorgWarner torque on demand transfer case combine seamlessly to take the Steed off the beaten path.
